7 People Hurt in Truck Crash on Highway 99 in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (October 12, 2023) — Seven people suffered minor injuries in a big rig accident on Highway 99 near 16th Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig crash happened Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a big rig driver did not see traffic slow down and crashed into multiple vehicles.
 
As a result, roughly six to seven people suffered minor injuries. However, reports did not say if anyone required hospital care for their wounds. Due to the crash, officials closed the No. 2 lane of Highway 99 for cleanup.
