David Meyer Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway near Highway 162

 
WILLOWS, CA (March 13, 2024) — David Meyer died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near Highway 162.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 7:40 p.m. For an unknown reason, a driver left the scene after hitting 69-year-old Meyer. Subsequently, authorities responded to the 5 North Freeway to find his upper body on the right shoulder and the lower body in the No. 2 lane.
 
According to the investigation, traffic investigators believed that the driver was heading northbound in the No. 2 lane at an unknown speed and drove over his hips and lower legs. Meyer passed away from his injuries.
