STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (December 15, 2023) — Two people were injured in a pedestrian accident near Westgate Drive and Saxon Way Thursday morning.
 
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian accident happened around 7:45 a.m. in Stanislaus County. Under unclear circumstances, a 50-year-old man struck a 67-year-old woman and her 9-year-old granddaughter as they made their way to Crossroad Elementary School.
 
Subsequently, paramedics rushed to the scene and took the pair to a hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators who did not believe alcohol played a part in the crash.
