6-Year-Old Child Dies, Driver Hospitalized in 2-Car Accident at Adams Avenue in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 23, 2023) — A 6-year-old boy died in a 2-car crash at Adams Avenue and Biona Drive.
 
According to reports, the fatal two-car crash happened just before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, an eastbound Hyundai Sonata traveling on Adams Avenue struck a Jeep Grand Cherokee, sending it onto its side and resting on a fire hydrant.
 
San Diego Fire Department officials responded quickly after and freed a 6-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries from the rear seat. He was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital where he passed away.
 
The Jeep driver — the boy’s 45-year-old father — and an 8-year-old girl — the boy’s sister — reported no injuries in the accident. The Hyundai driver, a 20-year-old, suffered minor injuries.
 
At this time, traffic investigators have a technical investigation in place to determine factors leading to the crash, including distracted driving or speeding. Those with information can call the San Diego Police.
