6 Hurt in Commerce Multi-Car Crash in 5 Freeway
COMMERCE, CA (April 20, 2021) — Six people were injured in a multi-car crash on the 5 Freeway near Slauson Avenue Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle collision happened around 2:40 a.m. For unknown reasons, a vehicle broke down in the northbound fast lane of the freeway. Subsequently, two vehicles collided with the sedan that was stalled.
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene and transported one person in critical condition and another with moderate injuries to nearby hospitals. Meanwhile, four people sustained less severe injuries.
At this time, CHP has not confirmed the ultimate cause. However, if anyone has more insight into this crash, please contact the CHP.
