Street Racing Accident on Fresno Street Sends Child to Hospital

 
FRESNO, CA (August 22, 2021) – A 5-year-old was taken to a hospital after a street racing accident at Fresno Street and Normal Avenue in central Fresno.
 
The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19. According to the Fresno Police Department, two cars were racing while going south on Fresno Street toward Clinton Avenue. One of them collided with a third vehicle that was trying to turn north onto Fresno Street. The impact caused one vehicle to overturn.
 
The racing car that did not strike the third vehicle fled the scene, authorities said.
 
Paramedics arrived and took one child to Valley Children’s Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
It was not immediately clear which vehicle the child was in. An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
