Toddler Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck at Residence on Adobe Road in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 14, 2023) – A 3-year-old girl was killed in a pedestrian accident on Adobe Road in Bakersfield Wednesday evening on May 10.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. at a home located on a private property near Highway 223. According to California Highway Patrol, a 35-year-old man driving a 2020 GMC pickup truck entered the driveway of the residence when he struck the toddler.
 
The impact caused the toddler major injuries.
 
Kern County Fire Department crews provided emergency medical aid before transporting the toddler to Kern Medical Hospital.
 
Sadly, the toddler did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
 
Alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
