Wrong-Way Driver Crashes Vehicle into Center Divider of 805 Freeway in Clairemont Injuring Three People

 
CLAIREMONT, CA (November 7, 2022) – Three people were injured in a wrong-way accident on 805 Freeway in Clairemont Sunday morning on November 6.
 
The accident happened around 5:00 a.m. near Highway 52. According to the CHP, a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on northbound 805 Freeway when it crashed into the center divider and down an embankment. It then overturned in the westbound Highway 52.
 
San Diego firefighters extricated the driver and two passengers who were trapped inside the vehicle.
 
All three patients were taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment of minor injuries.
 
Authorities later arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
