3 Hurt, Multi-Car Crash on Highway 43 in Kings County

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (October 13, 2023) — Three people were injured in a multi-car accident on Highway 43 near 5 1/2 Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a Honda driver failed to stop at a stop sign on 5 1/2 Avenue and Highway 43. Subsequently, the Honda struck a Chevy traveling on Highway 43. As a result, one of the cars struck a third vehicle waiting at the stop sign on the other side of 5 1/2 Avenue.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and brought two people in the Chevy to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. One person in the Honda sustained moderate injuries and sought medical care. No one inside the third car sustained any injuries.
 
At the time of the report, traffic investigators did not say what led to the accident. However, an investigation continues.
