2-Year-Old Killed in 2-Car Accident on 80 Freeway at Riverside Avenue On-Ramp

 
ROSEVILLE, CA (November 17, 2022) — A toddler died in a 2-car accident on the 80 Freeway at the Riverside Avenue on-ramp Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car collision happened around 8:49 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a pickup truck was reportedly moving at highway speeds, merging onto the 80 Freeway from the on-ramp, when the truck collided with a white Volkswagen sedan, occupied by a mother and her 2-year-old.
 
Soon after, bystanders and witnesses jumped in to help the victims, including the seriously injured toddler who died not long after. Authorities have not released the child’s name.
 
Paramedics arrived and took the mother and truck driver to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment. Per reports, both drivers sustained major injuries.
