SAN PEDRO, CA (July 20, 2023) — Two workers suffered injuries after a crane collapses during a billboard dismantle on Gaffey Street near the 110 Freeway.
 
According to authorities, the construction incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. In the 400 block of North Gaffey Street, two workers fell about 20 feet when a crane collapsed. Minutes later, paramedics arrived and brought the patients to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
According to Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn, the workers were dismantling a disputed billboard prior to the incident. For an unknown reason, the crane collapsed.
