Early Morning Two-Vehicle Accident on 60 Freeway in Pomona Leaves 2 Dead and Hurts 1

 
POMONA, CA (April 18, 2022) – Two women were killed in a two-vehicle accident on 60 Freeway in Pomona early Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened shortly after 2:05 a.m. on April 17 just west of Reservoir Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman driving a 2019 Honda Civic rear-ended a 2013 Toyota Camry that had stopped from a previous crash ahead.
 
As a result, the driver of the Honda and a 23-year-old female passenger of the Camry from Chino both died at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old male driver of the Camry, also a Chino resident, suffered minor injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center for treatment.
 
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident. They urged witnesses to call them at 626-338-1164.
