Deadly DUI Crash on Highway 99 in Tulare County Involves Wrong-Way Driver

 
TULARE COUNTY, CA (April 18, 2022) – One person died and another suffered severe injuries after a DUI accident on Highway 99 in Tulare County early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 4:30 a.m. on April 17 near Betty Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver was traveling the wrong way when they crashed into another vehicle.
 
As a result, one person in the other vehicle died at the scene. The wrong-way driver suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital.
 
Officials said the suspect will be arrested on multiple felony charges once released from the hospital.
 
DUI was a factor in the crash, the CHP said. An investigation is ongoing.
