2 Teens Detained After Stolen Vehicle Crashes During Police Pursuit at Jackson Drive in La Mesa

 
LA MESA, CA (March 4, 2024) — Two juveniles were arrested after a stolen car crashed during a police chase at Jackson Drive near the 8 Freeway.
 
According to El Cajon Police, the incident unfolded around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday. After spotting a stolen vehicle out of San Diego on Mollison Avenue, officers tried to pull over the driver. However, the driver refused and sped away. Subsequently, a chase unfolded and one occupant in the stolen car chucked a handgun out of the vehicle.
 
The chase ended when the driver exited the Jackson Drive off-ramp and struck an embankment.
 
From there, three vehicle occupants bolted out of the scene, yet officers detained two juveniles. At this time, one of them remains unaccounted for.
