Afternoon Crash on Highway 178 in Bakersfield Injures Two Drivers

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 24, 2023) – Two people were injured in a two-car accident on Highway 178 in Bakersfield Tuesday afternoon on March 21.
 
The accident happened around 12:15 p.m. just east of Union Avenue and west of Niles Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla was traveling in the fast lane when the driver lost control and spun out crashing into a Subaru sedan. The impact caused both cars to slam into a concrete wall.
 
The two drivers sustained minor scrapes from the crash.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
