Drunk Driver Broadsides Two Deputies on Main Streert in Stockton

STOCKTON, CA (January 9, 2024) – Two San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office deputies were hurt in a DUI broadside crash in Stockton late Saturday evening.

The crash happened just before midnight on January 6. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a Porsche SUV ran the stop sign at the intersection when it broadsided the two deputies who were driving eastbound on Main Street.

Responding paramedics took both deputies to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. One of them suffered a broken collar bone, but has since been released from the hospital. The other deputy is in stable condition.

An unknown number of people inside the Porsche were also taken to the hospital.

Investigators believe the driver of the Porsche was drunk when the crash happened.

It was unclear if there was an arrest made at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
