2 Dead, DUI 2-Car Accident on Highway 20 near Witter Springs Road [Lake County, CA]

2 Killed in DUI 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 20 in Lake County

 
LAKE COUNTY, CA (February 15, 2024) — Two people died in a DUI 2-car accident on Highway 20 near Witter Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-car crash happened around 6:24 a.m. Monday. Under unknown traffic conditions, a man in a westbound 2000 Nissan Frontier decided to pass slower traffic. Subsequently, the Nissan entered the eastbound lane but collided with an eastbound 2011 Toyota Prius.
 
As a result of the crash, the 59-year-old Toyota Prius driver from Miranda and a 44-year-old Nissan Frontier passenger from Ukiah passed away from their injuries. Officials have not released their names pending notification of family members.
 
As for the other occupants, the Nissan driver and one of his passengers suffered major injuries and required medical care. Before paramedics transported the Nissan Frontier driver, officers arrested him for DUI.
