Passenger Dies after Car Slams into Semi Truck on 15 Freeway in Bonsall

 
BONSALL, CA (October 14, 2022) – An 18-year-old man died in a car accident on 15 Freeway in Bonsall on Thursday morning, October 13.
 
The accident happened around 7:15 a.m. along the southbound side of the freeway near the Lilac Road Bridge, just south of Highway 76. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda Civic veered off the freeway for unknown reasons and rear-ended a broken down semi truck on the right shoulder.
 
As a result of the crash, the teen male passenger in the car died at the scene. He was from Baldwin Park.
 
The driver of the Civic, a 19-year-old, was transported to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
 
The driver of the semi, a 32-year-old Riverside man, was unharmed.
 
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Authorities urged anyone with further information to contact the CHP at 760-643-3400.
