17-Year-Old Lilly Butler Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 26 near Shelton Road

 
CALAVERAS COUNTY, CA (December 4, 2023) — Lilly Butler died in a head-on accident on Highway 26 near Shelton Road.
 
According to the Calaveras Consolidated Fire Protection District, the deadly two-car crash happened around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.
 
Around 2:45 p.m., a driver trying to pass slower westbound traffic crossed into the eastbound lanes. Subsequently, the motorist collided with a second driver, later identified as 17-year-old Butler.
 
As a result, Butler, the youngest daughter of a Rio Vista Fire Department member Joe Butler, passed away. The other driver reportedly suffered a head injury.
