Teen on Motorized Ebike Suffers Serious Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Catalina Boulevard in Point Loma Heights

 
POINT LOMA HEIGHTS, CA (March 7, 2023) – A 17-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on Catalina Boulevard in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood on Friday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the teen was riding a motorized ebike southbound in the 1800 block of Catalina Boulevard just before 6:30 p.m. He had a green light and waiting to turn onto Narragansett Avenue when an unknown car hit him from behind.
 
After the crash, the car did not stop and continued heading southbound on Catalina Boulevard.
 
The teen suffered a pelvic fracture.
 
The SDPS Traffic Division is still on the lookout for the hit-and-run suspect. They urged witnesses to call the traffic division or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
