16-Year-Old Jesus Rodriquez Dead, Erick Torres Detained in DUI Crash near Elkhorn Avenue and Jameson Avenue

 
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (February 14, 2023) — Jesus Rodriquez died in a DUI rollover crash near Elkhorn Avenue and Jameson Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the single-car accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday. For DUI-related reasons, 25-year-old Erick Gonzalez Torres was driving at a high rate of speed before he lost control of his westbound Toyota Tacoma. The pickup overturned several times and ejected 16-year-old Jesus Heriberto Rodriquez from the vehicle.
 
Shortly after, First Responders arrived and tried to save Rodriquez. However, efforts fell short and the teen from Mexico died in the crash. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt.
 
Meanwhile, Torres, 21-year-old Arturo Rodriguez and 19-year-old Christian Bribesca received treatment at the scene. Paramedics brought Torres to Community Regional Medical Center before police arrested him in connection to felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
