Teen Hospitalized in DUI Electric Dirt Bike Crash on Ebers Street in Ocean Beach

 
OCEAN BEACH, CA (December 14, 2023) — A 14-year-old was injured in a DUI electric dirt bike accident on Ebers Street near Point Loma Boulevard.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the DUI crash happened around 7:53 p.m. Tuesday. For DUI-reasons, a 47-year-old man turned left from Ebers Street, striking a 14-year-old boy on his electric off-road dirt bike.
 
Per an investigation, the teen entered the intersection at the same time the 2005 Land Rover did, resulting in the collision.
 
Upon impact, the Land Rover dragged the teen several feet. Moments later, paramedics responded to the scene and took the injured boy to a hospital for treatment of a fractured pelvis to the left and right side while police arrested the Land Rover driver on suspicion of DUI.
