Teen Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries after Hit by Car on El Cajon Boulevard in Rolando Neighborhood

 
ROLANDO, CA (March 16, 2024) – A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on El Cajon Boulevard in the Rolando neighborhood on Tuesday evening.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, a white Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound when a boy started walking southbound across the street and into the path of the vehicle. The Corolla then struck the boy in the 7100 block of El Cajon Boulevard around 10:17 p.m.
 
As a result of the crash, the boy suffered serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment.
 
Police said the Corolla’s 24-year-old driver remained at the scene and spoke to officers.
 
The SDPD Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
