Boy Suffers Major Injuries in Late Afternoon Off-Road Crash on Cypress Place in Menifee

 
MENIFEE, CA (February 14, 2022) – A 12-year-old Menifee boy suffered serious injuries in an off-road accident on Cypress Place, late Thursday afternoon.
 
The accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on February 10 in the 23700 block of Cypress Place near Newport Drive. According to the Menifee Police Department, the boy was using a toy quadricycle that broke down. A girl who was also riding a full-size quad offered to tow him.
 
The juveniles tied the two quads together and began towing the inoperative one. At one point, the towed quad lost control and overturned.
 
After the crash, the boy was ejected and sustained a serious head injury. He was not wearing a helmet.
 
First responders airlifted the boy to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
 
At this time, the accident is still under investigation.
