Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes Boy Walking Back From School on South Birch Street in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (April 14, 2023) – An 11-year-old boy was injured in a hit-and-run crash on South Birch Street in Santa Ana.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on March 29. Two young boys, who are cousins, were walking home from school. A barking dog got them startled, causing them to run into the residential street.
A sedan then hit one of the boys, tossing his body into the air and onto the pavement. The driver did not stop and continued speeding away.
Responding paramedics took the boy to a local hospital with minor bruises and scrapes.
Police described the car as a black-colored, early 2000s Cadillac DeVille with dark tinted windows, chrome rims and chrome metal trim.
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
