10-Vehicle Collision on 5 Freeway Results in Lane Closures in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (April 6, 2023) — A 10-car crash on the 5 Freeway near Weldon Canyon Road closed several lanes Thursday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle pile-up happened around 10:55 p.m. Thursday. CHP officers received a call about a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound side of the 5 Freeway. Upon arriving, they found one semi-truck and nine vehicles involved in the crash.
 
As a result of the incident, officials had to close multiple lanes, including the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes. By 12:40 a.m. Friday, crews lifted the SigAlert.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the crash or how many patients suffered any injuries, if any.
