Fatal Multi-Car Crash on 15 Freeway in Baker

 
BAKER, CA (August 25, 2022) — One person died in a multi-car accident on the 15 Freeway near Afton Road on Tuesday.
 
According to reports, the fatal accident happened around 12:08 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 26-foot box truck, a semi-truck hauling a trailer with frozen food items and a Ford F350 pickup hauling a 23-foot gooseneck trailer collided.
 
As a result, both lanes of the 15 Freeway were blocked and motorists had to use the shoulder to get around the accident. Arriving emergency personnel requested three helicopters but canceled one of them after one patient died at the scene. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
 
Following the accident, Mercy Air 66 and Mercy Air 22 transported two people to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for immediate care.
 
At this time, authorities have not released the ultimate cause of the crash. However, if anyone has more information on this deadly collision, please call the California Highway Patrol.
