1 Person Killed in Chula Vista Motorcycle Crash on 5 Freeway

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (May 30, 2023) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on the 5 Freeway at L Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident happened around 9:34 p.m. Sunday. Under unclear circumstances, a motorcyclist crashed into several vehicles at the L Street overpass. A witness told CHP investigators that the riders slid across the lanes and landed on the No. 2 lane.
 
Minutes later, paramedics were dispatched to the scene and brought the victim to UC San Diego Medical Center. However, despite receiving life-saving measures, the motorcyclist died at the hospital.
 
Traffic investigators did not say what led to the accident, but an investigation into the details should reveal what had occurred.
