Crash Involving DUI Driver Causes Power Outage in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (May 30, 2023) – Javier Diaz was arrested in a DUI crash in Visalia late Saturday evening on May 27.
 
The crash happened just before 11:00 p.m. on Murray Avenue between Willis and Johnson streets. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 27-year-old suspect was driving down Murray Avenue when he rear-ended a car.
 
Both vehicles then crashed into a home and hit a power line, causing power outage.
 
The drivers and their passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
 
No one was injured in the home .
 
Diaz was found to be driving under the influence and has been arrested and booked for felony DUI.
 
Further investigation is underway.
