1 Dead, Semi-Truck Hits Disabled Big Rig on 15 Freeway in San Bernardino County

 
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA (January 30, 2023) — One person died after a semi-truck hit a disabled big rig on the 15 Freeway near Halloran Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 4:08 a.m. Friday. For unknown reasons, a semi-truck driver hauling paper struck a disabled big rig on the northbound 15 Freeway.
 
Per reports, the disabled semi-tractor trailer, hauling 43,000 pounds of glass, was parked on the right shoulder with a mechanic working underneath.
 
Soon after, paramedics arrived and administered lifesaving efforts, but the mechanic died. Officials have not released the victim’s name. As for the driver of the truck hauling paper, he suffered critical injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, investigators have not stated the leading cause of the crash. Although, an ongoing investigation should confirm the liabilities and other details.
