Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 198 in Visalia Kills 20-Year-Old Passenger

 
VISALIA, CA (February 24, 2022) – One person was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle accident along Highway 198 near Visalia on Monday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on February 21. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Honda was traveling southbound on Second Avenue when it turned in front of an oncoming Mercedes eastbound on the highway.
 
The driver of the Mercedes did not have time to stop. She crashed into the right side of the Honda, killing the 20-year-old passenger.
 
The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.
 
The male driver and two other passengers in the Honda were taken to Kaweah Medical Center with various injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the female driver of the Mercedes had minor injuries.
 
At this time, it is unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. CHP officials are still investigating the accident.
