18-Year-Old Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Road 426 near Road 427 in Oakhurst

 
OAKHURST, CA (May 10, 2022) – An 18-year-old driver was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Road 426 on Sunday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on May 8 at about 7:15 p.m. A speeding BMW reportedly made an unsafe lane change and collided with another vehicle near Road 427.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the BMW driver and a passenger from the vehicle.
 
Emergency crews transported the ejected victims to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries. However, the BMW driver was later pronounced dead. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the occupants of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries but refused hospitalization.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
