Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 67 near Mussey Grade Road in Ramona

 
RAMONA, CA (September 20, 2022) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 67 on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on September 19 at about 3:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a Toyota Prius and a Toyota pickup collided near Mussey Grade Road.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the vehicles to overturn.
 
An air ambulance transported one seriously injured victim to Palomar Medical Center. However, the victim was later pronounced dead. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, two other victims sustained minor to moderate injuries.
 
Responders temporarily closed lanes on Highway 67 between Archie Moore Road and Dye Road to make way for clearing operations and an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
