1 Hurt in Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 58 in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 17, 2022) — One person was injured in a semi-truck accident on Highway 58 near H Street on Thursday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash happened on the westbound side of Highway 58 around 4:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, multiple cars collided, including a semi-trailer hauling hay. As a result, the semi-trailer hauling hay caught on fire and appeared to have rolled over during the crash.
Soon after, authorities and paramedics responded to the scene and treated one person with minor injuries. Due to the accident, authorities had to divert traffic from Highway 58 to H Street.
Authorities have yet to identify the primary cause of this accident. However, any witnesses who would like to help the CHP should call the department.
