Andreu Bartholic and Anne Marie Anderson Killed, Caleb Marquez Injured after SUV Crashes into Motorcycles on Highway 101 [Humboldt County, CA]

Andreu Bartholic, Anne Anderson Die, Caleb Marquez Hospitalized after SUV Hits Motorcycles on Highway 101 near Myers Flat

 
HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (June 17, 2022) — Andreu Shawne Bartholic and Anne Marie Anderson died on June 13 after an SUV crashed into a group of motorcyclists on Highway 101 near Myers Flat.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4:29 p.m. north of Myers Flat. For unknown reasons, a Toyota 4Runner SUV, driven by 25-year-old Andreu Shawne Bartholic, veered into the southbound lanes.
 
Subsequently, the northbound SUV crossed into the path of five motorcyclists, consequently colliding with a 2018 BMW R1200 and a 2022 Triumph Tiger.
 
Bartholic of Eureka, and the Triumph rider, identified as 42-year-old Anderson, died in the accident.
 
Soon after, paramedics brought 38-year-old Caleb Marquez, of Portland, Ore., to Saint Joseph Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was driving the 2018 BMW R1200.
 
At this time, authorities have not identified the leading cause of the crash or liabilities. However, an investigation into these details will clarify any outstanding information.
