OROVILLE, CA (January 5, 2023) — One person was injured in a 2-car accident on Highway 99 near Nelson Shippee Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car collision occurred before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. Under unclear circumstances, a Toyota Camry rear-ended a white Toyota Tundra, whose driver tried to drive around another car making a left turn onto Nelson Shippee Road.
 
As a result of the crash, the Toyota Camry driver suffered major injuries that required hospital care.
 
Due to the events, authorities closed two lanes of Highway 99 for nearly half an hour as they investigated.
 
It is unclear what led to the crash, but officers plan to look into this case more closely.
