Lanes Closed after Chain-Reaction Accident on Highway 99 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (November 1, 2022) – One person needed hospitalization following a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 99 on Monday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on October 31 at about 1:45 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, three big rigs and an SUV collided near Avenue 20.
 
The impact of the collision caused one of the trucks to land on its side. Meanwhile, another truck was pushed near the railroad tracks. As per reports, the third truck sustained major front damage.
 
Emergency crews transported one person to a hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.
 
Responders temporarily closed affected lanes to make way for clearing operations.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
