Driver Hurt, Diesel Spilled after Rollover Big Rig Accident on Highway 14

 
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY, CA (December 6, 2022) – A driver sustained injuries in a chain-reaction big rig accident on Highway 14, Friday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on December 2, at about 6:40 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, a black SUV and a big rig became involved in a collision. As per reports, the big rig overturned near Sierra Highway.
 
A short time later, a Toyo Tires Box truck struck the overturned big rig. The impact of the collision pinned the SUV underneath the Toyo Tires truck.
 
Also, approximately 30 gallons of diesel spilled onto the highway.
 
Emergency crews transported one driver to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
Responders prompted a SigAlert for the closure of all truck lanes near the affected lanes. A hazmat unit later arrived to clear the oil spill.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
