1 Killed, 2-Vehicle Crash at Iona Avenue in Kings County

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (February 27, 2024) — One person died in a 2-car accident at Iona Avenue and 14th Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened south of Armona on Sunday afternoon. For an unknown reason, a 17-year-old driver in a Hyundai Elantra went through a stop sign while heading eastbound on Iona Avenue. Subsequently, a northbound Chevy Suburban on 14th Avenue collided with the side of the Hyundai vehicle.
 
Soon after, emergency dispatchers arrived and found one Hyundai passenger with fatal injuries and another with serious injuries. Officials did not release either victim’s name.
 
Following the incident, authorities closed the area to investigate and discovered that neither drugs nor alcohol factored into the cause. If anyone has more information on this fatal accident, please call the CHP.
