VENTURA COUNTY, CA (February 27, 2024) — One person was injured in a multi-car accident on Highway 101 near La Conchita.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash happened around 12:53 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, roughly five vehicles collided in two separate crashes, including a hit-and-run car. Subsequently, CHP officers responded and requested a helicopter, which shut down all lanes to land. Moments later, paramedics arrived and took one person to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.
 
By 1:45 p.m., commuters faced a backup on the highway from La Conchita to Carpinteria. Authorities did not say what led to the crash. However, we will update this report once we get new details.
