Legal Assistant – Liens Department

 

Summary

Our growing personal injury firm is looking to add a dedicated, self-starting, and vibrant team player to our Liens Department. The right candidate will work with a group of helpful and motivational team members to help resolve, confirm, and close client’s cases.

 

Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review client files to verify all outstanding bills and lien amounts.
  • Negotiate with medical providers to obtain reductions.
  • Resolving statutory/subrogation liens.
  • Negotiating/waiving med pay reimbursement.
  • Calculating pro rata reductions for medical bills.
  • Draft settlement documents.
  • Obtain liens and negotiate with governmental entities (Medi-Cal, Medicare, Child Support, etc.)
  • Calculate pro rata reductions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Legal Assistant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience working with a law firm (personal injury preferred) or relevant work experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, customer service experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet daily and monthly goals
  • Team player
