Our growing personal injury firm is looking to add a dedicated, self-starting, and vibrant team player to our Bills and Records Department. The right candidate will work with a group of helpful and motivational team members to help deliver a high level of client service and satisfaction.
Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for obtaining billing and medical records
- Perform clerical functions in the records department
- Organize and manage all records and documents
- Coordinate and collaborate with all the departments in managing records.
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary medical treatment information
- Comply with HIPAA regulations
- Follow verification procedures and prepare records for archiving
- Managing account balances to discover outstanding debts
- Initiate claims with Medi-Cal & Medicare
- Other duties as assigned
Legal Assistant Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- At least one year experience as a legal assistant or relevant experience
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
- Ability to work on a team as well as individually
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Vigorous follow up skills is a must
- Strong attention to detail
