Legal Assistant – Billing and Records

 

Summary

Our growing personal injury firm is looking to add a dedicated, self-starting, and vibrant team player to our Bills and Records Department. The right candidate will work with a group of helpful and motivational team members to help deliver a high level of client service and satisfaction.

 

Legal Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for obtaining billing and medical records
  • Perform clerical functions in the records department
  • Organize and manage all records and documents
  • Coordinate and collaborate with all the departments in managing records.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain necessary medical treatment information
  • Comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Follow verification procedures and prepare records for archiving
  • Managing account balances to discover outstanding debts
  • Initiate claims with Medi-Cal & Medicare
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Legal Assistant Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • At least one year experience as a legal assistant or relevant experience
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to work on a team as well as individually
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Vigorous follow up skills is a must
  • Strong attention to detail
