Woman Fatally Struck by Car on Highway 99 in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 13, 2023) — A woman hit by a car on Highway 99 near Elkhorn Boulevard died in Wednesday’s pedestrian accident.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly pedestrian accident happened around 10:07 p.m. Wednesday. For an unknown reason, a female driver heading southbound on Highway 99 experienced a flat tire just north of Elkhorn Boulevard. Subsequently, the woman crossed the highway into the other lane after stopping her vehicle. However, an oncoming car struck her.
 
The driver of the second car immediately pulled over and called the police. However, the unidentified woman died in the accident.
 
Traffic investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in the accident, but they are looking into this case more closely.
