Bakersfield Police Search for 2 Hit-and-Run Drivers Involved in Deadly Pedestrian Crash on Stockdale Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 6, 2022) – A woman died in a hit-and-run crash on Stockdale Highway in southwest Bakersfield on Friday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on November 4, in the 5100 block of Stockdale Highway. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the woman was crossing the westbound lanes of Stockdale Highway outside of a crosswalk when she was hit first by a silver sedan, possibly a Honda with a rear spoiler.
 
A second vehicle, described as a black Chevy or GMC truck, also struck the woman when she was in the road.
 
Both vehicles fled the scene.
 
Responding officers found the woman with major injuries and pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will identify the victim at a later time.
 
At this time, police are still investigating the crash and searching for the hit-and-run drivers.
