Man Hospitalized in Scooter-Car Crash on Madison Avenue in University Avenue

 
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, CA (August 19, 2022) — A man was injured in a scooter accident on Madison Avenue near Florida Street on Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the scooter crash happened around 4:55 p.m. In the 1900 block of Madison Avenue, a 37-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter westbound.
 
A Ram 350 truck, operated by a 57-year-old man driving in the same direction, struck the scooter.
 
Per reports, the scooter made contact with the right front corner panel as the truck made a right turn onto Florida Street.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded to find the scooter rider with an open compound fracture of the wrist and brought him to a hospital. Meanwhile, the driver of the RAM stayed at the scene, reporting no injuries.
