Two-Vehicle Accident in San Martin Kills 1 Driver and Injures 4 Other People

 
SAN MARTIN, CA (May 18, 2022)Lorenzo Castillo died in a two-vehicle accident in San Martin on Sunday afternoon, May 15.
 
The accident happened around 12:50 p.m. in the area of Center Avenue and East Middle Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, A man driving a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on Center Avenue with two passengers in the car.
 
He did not stop at the stop sign and collided with a Ford F-150, driven by Castillo. As a result, the impact ejected Castillo and his two other passengers.
 
Castillo suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 69-year-old San Martin resident.
 
Four people, including passengers in both cars and the driver of the Chevrolet, had minor to major injuries and were taken to hospitals.
 
Authorities said the driver of the Chevrolet was believed to be impaired during the crash, but was not arrested because he was under the care of medical staff.
 
At this time, this fatality is under investigation. Authorities asked anyone with more information to contact CHP Officer Polkownikow at 408-848-2324.
