Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident at G Street and 18th Street [Merced, CA]

Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on G Street in Merced

 
MERCED, CA (April 11, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on G Street in Merced on Sunday morning.
 
The accident happened around 5:15 a.m. on April 10 just north of 18th Street. According to the Merced Police Department, a 2005 Infiniti sedan driving south on G Street struck the man in the roadway.
 
After the crash, the victim came to rest in the traffic lane, and the driver of the Infiniti pulled into a nearby alley.
 
Soon after, a Merced Police patrol unit arriving on the scene hit the victim, who was lying in the roadway.
 
First responders attempted saving the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The involved police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave while this case is under investigation.
