Fiery Train Accident near Scott Street in San Bruno Leaves at Least 13 People Injured

 
SAN BRUNO, CA (March 14, 2022) – At least 13 people were injured in a fiery train accident near Scott Street in San Bruno on Thursday morning.
 
The accident happened around 10:38 a.m. on March 10. According to the San Bruno Fire Department, a southbound train #506 struck a Caltrain electrification maintenance vehicle in unclear circumstances. The impact caused the front of the train to burst into flames.
 
The train operator, four train passengers and the driver of the electrification vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics took the six patients to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
Meanwhile, an additional seven people were treated at the scene.
 
There were about 75 passengers on the train at the time of the crash, officials said.
 
At this time, the cause of the crash and accompanying fire remain under investigation.
