Woman Dies in Healdsburg 5-Car Crash on Highway 101

HEALDSBURG, CA (February 8, 2022) — A woman died in a 5-car accident on Highway 101 near Old Redwood Highway on Monday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car collision happened around 1:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Dodge Ram pickup collided with a car traveling at a slower speed due to nearby road construction. Due to the impact, several vehicles collided in a chain reaction fashion.
 
One of the cars involved a Hyundai Tucson that sustained considerable damage.
 
Upon responding, paramedics found a woman sitting in the back seat of the Hyundai Tucson and pronounced her dead at the scene. According to reports, she is a female in her 20s from outside of California. Meanwhile, two others suffered major injuries.
 
Following the crash, the Dodge driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
 
At this time, authorities have ruled out DUI as a possible explanation. However, an investigation into speed and other factors should clarify more details.
