Man Dies in Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Main Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 15, 2021) — A man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Main Street near 70th Street Monday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the fatal crash involving two hit-and-run drivers occurred around 1:20 a.m.

For unknown reasons, a driver in a light-colored two-door vehicle struck the 35-year-old victim who was standing in the southbound lanes. As a result of the impact, the man flew into the air and landed on the other side of the street.

Unfortunately, that driver did not stop. Shortly after, a woman in a car had pulled over to check on the man. She reportedly tried to help him but left the scene for unknown reasons. Not long after, a Spanish-speaking driver of a light-colored Toyota Prius — described as a taxi — had also checked on the man. However, as he did so, an oncoming dark sedan heading north on Main Street struck the pedestrian, dragging him about 60 feet. For unclear reasons, that driver left, and the Prius driver left shortly after.

At this time, police need these witnesses’ help to identify the hit-and-run drivers involved in this accident. If anyone has more information, please contact the LAPD.
